Additionally, the controller's internal circuit board is coated with a conformal layer to guard against dust, moisture, and static electricity. Protection mechanisms include: Solar reverse charging protection, which prevents the battery from charging the solar panel when the battery voltage exceeds that of the panel at night. There is also reverse polarity protection for the battery; if the battery is connected incorrectly, the controller will cease to function.

Battery open circuit protection is essential as prolonged use may lead to an open circuit or poor connections. Regular checks on the connections are necessary to prevent damage to the controller. In cases of strong winds or excessive voltage, the controller activates a braking function to safeguard both the wind generator and the battery, disconnecting the circuit if the output exceeds safe voltage levels.
